Kiss Everlasting French

I'd like to begin this by saying I have a really bad nail biting habit. I can't seem to stop and I have tried. So, fake nails are a comfort for me because I can't just bite them off and make them look are jacked and sad like my real nails. For people with the same problem, I am really going to recommend this product because they are easy to put on and inexpensive at around $6.69. The product is Kiss Everlasting French Nails and I received it complimentary for testing purposes in my Spring Vox Box from Influentser. I did a whole blog post for the entire vox box, but I have decided to go into more detail with this one.

You start the process by removing all nail polish and oil from your nails. Then you go in with the manicure stick included and push back your cuticles. You are supposed to trim your nails as well, but since I chew mine down so much I was able to skip this step.

Next, you pick out the sizes you are going to use for each finger. You can trim the sides a bit with the nail file if needed. Then you hold the nails by the tab and apply the glue. You also add a little glue to your natural nail. Then you apply the nail slowly and hold until it sticks. Wipe the excess glue. Then just bend the tab and twist to remove it.

After that you just apply a top coat and you are all done. :) You have adorable little nails. A couple things I will say though. First, these nails aren't intended to last longer than 10 days. I'm sure they can, but they aren't made to. Also, mine ended up a bit crooked to really make sure you're getting them on straight.

Influenster Spring Vox Box

So, here I am pushing this project to the back burner just like I expected. *sigh* Hopefully, I can slowly ease into this though. I need to get into the habit of writing on here. That is why I have decided to review my Influentser Spring Vox Box on this blog. Reviewing must be a good start.

So here we go. In my Spring Vox Box, I received complimentary products for testing purposes. This included a Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara, a Kiss Everlasting French Nails kit, a peach pie car air freshener from the movie Labor Day, a box of Playtex Sport Fresh Balance tampons, a 2.5 fl oz bottle of NIVEA Skin Firming Hydration Lotion, and 1 Softlips Cube (pomegranate blueberry scented.)

First, I tried out my NIVEA Skin Firming Hydration Lotion. The lotion has a really nice and clean smell. It wasn't too oily and didn't feel too greasy on my skin. So far, it has left me feeling very soft and I just want to cuddle up with myself. It doesn't at all feel heavy. It sinks right into my skin the way I expect a lotion to. I tend to have very dry skin after I shower so it's nice to put this on after a shower and still feel clean and light. I would buy this product. :)

Next, I tested my Softlips Cube. The first thing I noted was it's adorable packaging. It comes in this cute little cube (duh) and it is just very unique. I really enjoyed that. Then, I opened it up and it smelled amazing! The pomegranate blueberry scent was very enticing. When I rubbed it on my lips I could tell right away that it was going to make my lips very smooth. It glided on very easily, even over my fairly cracked lips. A little while later I noticed myself constantly rubbing my lips together just because they felt so soft. I am going to start carrying this little guy everywhere with me. When it runs out, I will most likely be buying a new one. I really want to try out the other scents.

Now, I have to say, it's fairly difficult to try out tampons while not on your period. So, I have yet to give the Playtex Sports Fresh Balance tampons a try. I can say that they look like reliable tampons. I always use plastic applicators and these have that. They also have a nice smell, which I think is a nice touch. These are supposed to be tampons you can use and still do your sports/active thing. Keeping with that theme, I'd like to take a quick minute to say that I'm not a fan of most sports. However, I love sports that can also be art. For instance, dance is absolutely one of my favorite things. Being able to still dance around as much as I want while Martha is here for her monthly visit will be nice.

The car air freshener may not have the best smell ever, but it does it's job. It promotes the movie Labor Day. Labor Day is a movie about "love, passion, and betrayal as seen through the eyes of a teenage boy and the man he later becomes. Henry looks back on his fateful 13th year, when he lived with his reclusive divorced mother. At the start of Labor Day weekend, while on a rare excursion to town, Henry and his mother encounter an injured man who asks for refuge in their home. Over the course of the next four days, they're taken 'hostage' by a man who ultimately captures them, body and soul.". Overall, the film is a heartwarming tale. It is based off of a book by Joyce Maynard.

When I opened up my Kiss Everlasting French Nails kit, I was pleased to find a nice array of numbered nail sized. I have very small fingers so it can sometimes be hard to find good sized fake nails. The nails also have little tabs on them that you just break off after you have applied the nail. It makes the whole process easy to do by yourself. It also came with instructions, a nail file, a little manicure stick, and some pink gel glue. It's very easy to apply the nails and they look so simple and cute when they are on. As far as I can tell, they last very well too.

Lastly, I tried my Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara. This mascara works great. The applicator has a very cool shape that I haven't seen before. It is a very soft brush and not plastic, which is a big plus for me. It spreads my eyelashes as I apply it so I can tell it's really getting every lash. I applied it to one eye and compared and the difference is amazing. It makes me eyelashes look full and beautiful. I just want to bat my eyelashes at people. ;) I will most likely be replacing it with another one when it runs out. Highly recommend.

So, overall, I am pleased with the contents of my Spring Vox Box from Influenster. Everything works beautfully and has me looking and feeling amazing.

The Beginning of the Beginner

The reason I am starting this blog is simple, I feel I am not talented at anything I try. I want to try a bunch of new things and see if I am good at any of them, as well at furthering learning and practicing the things I already have an interest it. I want my life to be full of new experiences and this seems like a good way to motivate me to do them. :)

To explain the title, I consider myself an amateur at everything I do. I have nothing that I am an expert at, therefore I am an amateur full time. I would like to be able to change that with this blog. I would love to get to a place where I have people helping suggest to me new things to try next and maybe giving me tips on the things I already do.

One of the things I want to focus on is practicing my drawing skills. I have a real love of the art but have yet to perfect my talent for it. I would love to eventually start taking suggestions for pieces to do. This is all very experimental though, I tend not to follow through with these ideas. Let's hope this one will be different.

I certainly hope this all works out for the best. I'd hate to see another one of my ideas get pushed to the back burner, (and then burn). So, any tips and ideas would be amazing! :)
